NA (66th meeting of the Standing Committee on Planning, Development & Reform held)

Islamabad: The 66th meeting of the Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Majeed Khan Khanankhail, MNA. The Committee considered the issue of transfer of land for the establishment of University of Thal, Kallur Kot, District Bhakkar and establishment of 132 KV Grid Station at Kallur Kot.

The DCO, District Bhakkar assured the Committee that the land would be transferred to Faisalabad Electric Supply Company for the establishment of 132 KV Grid Station at Kallur Kot and also land will be transferred to HEC for the establishment of University of Thal, Kallur Kot, District Bhakkar within a month.

The Committee considered the issue of construction of Bridge on River Indus connecting Kallur Kot with D.I. Khan. The representative of National Highway Authority assured the Committee that the contractor might be mobilized after fulfilling formalities of the contract.

The Committee recommended that the central rout of CPEC might be finalized for the sake of progress of back ward areas of South Punjab. While it was also pointed out that the central rout will be the shortest possible rout of CPEC.

The MNA/Members Malik Ibrar Ahmed, Dr. Asma Mamdot, Mr. Junaid Akbar, Ms. Shaheen Shafiq and Mr. Iftikhar-ud-Din attended the meeting. The senior officers from the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform also attended the meeting.
