NA: (NA Speaker stresses need for unity among Muslim Ummah)

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has stressed the need for unity among Muslim countries for peace and prosperity of Muslim Ummah.

He was speaking at the General Assembly of Parliamentary Union of Islamic countries in Tehran on Tuesday. He said despite braving the global terrorism and sacrificing the maximum number of precious lives, Pakistan is being blamed for the menace.

He said that alteration of the Holy city of Jerusalem is a deliberate effort to undermine the peace efforts in the Middle East. The move is against international law and the related UN resolutions.

Referring to Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir, he said the occupation forces have martyred more than one hundred thousand Muslim Kashmiris; about one hundred and thirty thousand have been arrested and over twenty thousand men are missing with their fate unknown.

The Speaker said that firing by the Indian troops along Line of Control in Kashmir is a deliberate attempt to divert the global attention from the gross human rights violations in the occupied Valley.

Later, in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Dr. Ali Larijani, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized for a greater cooperation among the countries of the region for common prosperity.

He also drew the attention of Iranian Speaker over the growing Indo-Israeli nexus and the visit of the Israeli Prime Minister to New Delhi. The Iranian Speaker assured his complete support to the Kashmir issue.
