LARKANA: PPP’s seven recently elected Senators visited Bhutto mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bux near here on Friday after being elected to the Senate of Pakistan.
They included Dr. Sikander Mandhro, Imamuddin Shouqeen, Mohammad Ali Shah Jamote, Anwar Laldin, Rukhsana Zuberi, Krishna Kolhi and Quratul Ain Mari. They offered prayers and laid floral wreaths at the graves of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Begum Nusrat Bhutto and other martyrs. While talking to media Mandhro said that they are thankful to PPP leadership who gave us tickets and got workers like us elected to the Senate.
He said that their first priority is to serve the masses across Pakistan. He said that it was the dream of Shaheed Bhutto that development must take place, poor be able to have three times food, peace be maintained and there should be justice in the country. He said one dictator deprived us of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and another snatched Benazir Bhutto from the people of Pakistan. He said we cannot forget our Shaheeds adding that we will convert our sorrow into our power.
To a question Mandhro replied that no horse-trading has been made adding we have neither seen horse nor treading. He said we don’t give media any importance about Asif Zaradri’s alleged involvement in horse-trading. Dr. Sikander further said that they are workers and are bound by the decisions made by their leadership. He said that we are electing our Senate Chairman to change the fate of poverty-stricken people of the country and to serve them even better. He said priorities of capitalists and Jagirdars are different which you are seeing today as they are always thinking of enhancing their business empires and not for the alleviation of poverty and resolution of issues face by the nation.
He said we need such person who strengthens democracy and work for the provincial autonomy adding we salute Raza Rabbani for whom we are very proud of. A large number of party activists were also present on the occasion who showered rose petals over them, presented them with traditional gifts of Sindhi cap and Ajrak but they were lacking proper discipline as all of them wanted to remain in forefront during media talk and on the graves so that their leaders could notice their presence. Most of them also were busy in having selfies with the Senators.
The Senators faced a very tough situation when their own activists started pushing them behind when they were offering prayers at the graves of their martyred leaders. Aijaz Leghari, Khair Mohammad Shaikh, Noordin Abro, Ahad Jamal Dawoodpoto, Arshad Shah Rashidi and others were also present on the occasion.
