Karachi: Very busy Nishtar Road connecting Garden to Lea Market is in dilapidated condition, needing urgent repair to avert long traffic jams.
Big potholes, ditches, overflowing gutters and encroachments on both footpaths are the hallmarks of this important artery of the old city area that is being used by hundreds of thousands of commuters daily. Due to the repair of Aga Khan-III Road, the traffic coming from Lyari Expressway and Old Golimar is also diverted to this broken road, resulting in chronic traffic jams.
The road serves a densely populated residential cum commercial area and repair of this artery would benefit many localities situated on its both sides. Citizens have requested the Sindh chief minister to approve special package for an urgent repair of this road, besides ordering cleaning of choked gutters and removal of encroachments.
