No hope of relief to masses from PTI govt: Siraj

March 11, 2020

Peshawar:Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Senator Sirajul Haq has said that it seemed masses will not be able to get any relief during the present regime of the PTI.

The government, he said while talking to media after addressing a mass wedding ceremony in Peshawar on Wednesday, not only failed to introduce a powerful and impartial accountability drive but the bad governance and flawed economic policies had also taken roots and the overall situation caused irreversible loss to country during past 18 months.

The Alkhidmat Foundation organized the marriage ceremony of 20 couples. JI KP Secretary General Abdul Waseh, JI Peshawar Emir Atiqur Rahman and Alkhidmat Foundation KP President Khalid Waqas also addressed on occasion.

Senator Siraj said the so-called anti-corruption campaign could not be succeeded and the economy would not stable until the persons sitting around the prime minister would be held accountable.

He said the people wanted to know the names of those who created fake sugar and flour crises and made billions of rupees in few days. But, he regretted, the prime minister was not ready to listen the public outcry and busy in making the emotional statements. Opening langar khanas and shelter homes, he said, had become the most favorite job of the PM.

On one hand, he said, the rulers were turning people into beggars while on the other hand they were blindly following the IMF directions. The rising unemployment and inflation, he said, was the outcome of the policies of the international lending agency. He said the prices of petroleum product witnesses a record decline in international market but the government did not pass the relief to the public. All the tall claims made the PTI during the election campaign, he said, proved a pack of lies.

To a question, he said JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman must reveal to the public that what promises were made with him when he had called off his sit-in in Islamabad. Addressing the ceremony, he demanded the federal and provincial governments establish a fund for the poor and needy girls’ marriages. Similarly, he said there was need to introduce legislation to end the curse of dowry. The JI, he said, had already introduced bill in the parliament for the purpose. He said the JI was the only party which could bring the real change in the country if voted to power.
