Kandhkot: Despite the orders of the apex court, there is not improvement in quality of water available for local population for drinking purpose.

As per details, the citizens here are still compelled to drink highly contaminated water and the chairman of the Water Commission has also expressed his displeasure over the apathy of concerned officials.

According to details, Water Commission’s Chairman Justice ® Ameer Hani Muslim visited canals and water filter plants, as well as, the Civil Hospital of Kandhkot to check quality of drinking water and expressed concerns over situation.

Justice (retd) Ameer Hani visited Dhoro and Kandhkot canal and expressed anger on deputy commissioner Munawar Ali Mithani, public health engineer over poor quality of water.

He directed concerned officers to take urgent step to ensure supply of clean water to citizens and submit a report in this regard within a week.

He regretted that people of Kandhkot are drinking unhygienic and sewerage-mixed water due to lack of a proper drainage system.

He also expressed displeasure over release of rice mills’ contaminated water into Kandhkot Canal, ordering the District and Sessions judge Ghulam Hussain Talpur to probe into the matter and submit a report.

Later, he visited the civil hospital Kandhkot and showed anger over the lack of proper drainage and sewerage water accumulated in hospital premises. He ordered to solve the issue within a day.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Nazir Ahmed Awan complained that the gas connection of the hospital was disconnected two years ago due to which entire hospital is paralyzed.

The commission head ordered the concerning departments to resolve issue and submit a report within in a week.
