No respite: 21 more dengue cases in Karachi

KARACHI: As many as 21 more dengue fever cases were detected from Karachi from March 6 to March 15, taking the reported cases’ toll to 188 in the megacity since the 1st January 2018.

As per the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, at least 23 new dengue fever cases surfaced across the province out of them 21 were reported from Karachi and two from other parts of province.

A total 199 cases have been reported throughout Sindh province out of them 188 in Karachi and 11 from rest of province. No death was reported from dengue this year so far.

Dengue has become a serious healthcare threat in Karachi. Though, the Punjab government has successfully controlled the spread of dengue virus in Lahore, but the Sindh government has miserably failed to eradicate dengue from its megacity, Karachi.
