Ombudsman urges people to make complaints if any

LARKANA:The Regional Director, Hyderabad Region, Federal Ombudsman, Ghulam Hussain Sohu, who is also holding additional charge of Sukkur Region, has said that complaints against the federal government organizations such as WAPDA, NADRA, SSSGC, State Life, SEPCO and other institutions might be sent online or on a plain paper so that the issues faced by the people could be addressed.

He was addressing journalists at local press club here on Friday for making awareness among the masses. He said: “In Hyderabad region, 1000 complaints are received on daily basis, most of which are against HESCO and SSGC whereas ratio of Sukkur Region areas, including Kambar-Shahdadkot, Larkana and other districts, is negligible.”

He said that either the people were unaware of Federal Ombudsman’s office or there were no complaints against the federal government offices. He said after taking over additional charge in Sukkur, as many as 130 complaints had been redressed within two months and many complaints were still pending for which concerned departments had been sent letters according to rules and it was hoped those would also be resolved within 45 days.

He said cases which were pertaining to NAB or FIA were sent to them for further investigation. He said they don’t have powers to act on applications sent against judiciary or defense. He appealed to the general public to send complaints against federal government departments or negligence of federal government officials which would be entertained and resolved.
