ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, public opinion split over Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi: 41% rate him as favourable, 23% unfavourable while 28% are indifferent.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “What is your opinion about the overall performance of Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi, the leader of Tehreek-e-Labbaik?”

In response to this question, 11% said it was very good, 30% said it was good, 28% said it was neither good nor bad, 13% said bad, 10% said very bad and 8% did not respond.

It should be noted that in general, ratings for religious scholars/maulvis as captured recently by Gallup Pakistan in Geo/Jang Poll is 62% favourable, which is 21% higher than that of Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1646 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, December 02- December 09, 2017. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
