KARACHI: Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Accident, Emergency & Trauma Centre administration has decided to open Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Cardiac Surgery Department at 12th floor of Trauma Centre.
Talking to PPI, Focal Person, SMBB Trauma Centre, Syed Aamir Raza Abidi, while talking to PPI, said Oral Maxillofacial and Cardiac Surgery Departments would be made operational at 12th floor of 14-story trauma centre.
He informed that 70 per cent of 14-storirf state-of-the-art’ trauma centre has already been functional where emergency, neurosurgery, intensive care units, critical care units ,vascular surgery facilities, orthopaedic, operation theatres, eye unit and other facilities are available through one-window operation to the public in emergency situations.
He informed that Oral Maxillofacial and Cardiac Surgery Departments would be made functional at Trauma Centre very soon. He further informed that Burn Unit for acute burn injuries would also be established at 8th floor of Trauma Centre soon.
The Benazir Bhutto Accident, Emergency and Trauma Centre project was started in January 2009 and completed in the end of 2015. The 14-storey ‘state-of-the-art’ trauma centre is first of its kind established by the Sindh government.
