’Our new generation is a product of Science and IT’

KARACHI:President, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University,(MAJU) Karachi Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh said that our new generation is a product of Science and Information Technology (IT) age which has capability of innovation in entrepreneurial activities in comparison to our old mature generation to bring positive changes.

He said that IT revolution has completely changed our world, now it is also called the age of transformation of technologies and our new generation also wish to change the world, we cannot stop them to ask question regarding various disclaimers imposed by in our society.

This he stated while he was addressing to a Workshop on “Entrepreneurial Science; Serving Science and Society” organized by MAJU Office of the Research, Innovation and Commercialization, (ORIC) in collaboration with Institute of Research Promotion, (IRP) Lahore Yesterday at University Campus. MAJU, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim, Assistant Professors, Chemistry department, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology,(FUUAST) Karachi Dr. Sajjad Jahangir and Syed Tahir Ali, Director, IRP, Dr. Zafar Iqbal and Assistant Professor, Azerbaijan Medical university, Dr. Khyala addressed to the workshop.

Assistant Professor, Biosciences, MAJU Dr. Huma Jawed was the host of this program. Addressing to the workshop, Dr. Zubair Shaikh asked the students for doing any business, you need a mindset and on the basis of you knowledge you may present new ideas for its successfully running. He further asked them to form a team of talented persons before establishing a company, for this purpose MAJU assure any possible help to open their own incubator here. Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim said that Research, Commercialization and Entrepreneurship are understood very popular subjects in Universities presently, and many universities have established research and commercialization centers for the benefit of the society.

He asked that research work may be translated in connect with product and to see how it may be utilize in the benefit of product. Dr. Assad Jahangir said that entrepreneurship should not be the economic development strategy of last resort because success in economic development strategies does not happen overnight.
