KARACHI: Executive Director, Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PILER) Karamat Ali Monday expressed his deep sorrow over the demise of noted writer, columnist Muneer Ahmed Qureshi alias Mannu Bhai who died in Lahore on Friday.
In a condolence message to his family, Ali eulogized the services rendered by Mannu Bhai for promotion of literature, freedom of expression and democracy in Pakistan. He was not only a playwright, but a great humanist, visionary and a poet. His Punjabi poetry was considered as one of the best works in the contemporary Punjabi literature and poetry, added Karamat Ali.
Late Munno Bhai was a regular contributor in daily Jang as a columnist, penning his views on different issues of politics, economy, cultural and social issues. These columns were widely read by the people in Pakistan. He prayed for rest of his soul in eternal peace and offered condolences with the bereaved family.
