QUETTA: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while agreeing with proposal put forth by Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri for sustainable development of the province through 10 year project has assured that federal government would fully assist this propjet for its implementation. Directing provincial government to prepare course of action for this and submitting it to federal government that these projects would be included in Federal PSDP.

He was speaking with members of provincial cabinet at Governor House here Tuesday.

Balochistan Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Federal ministers Abdul Qadir Baloch, Dosten Domki National Security adviser Nasser Khan Janjua, Senator Yaqoob Nassar, Chief Secretary Aurang Zeb Haq were also present.

Prime Minister also directed for start of work on Reko Diq project and said that federal government would also extend full cooperation in this regard.

During the meeting Chief Minister put forth proposal for preparing 10 year development projects for promoting education, health, drinking water, electricity, gas and irrigation sectors. Prime Minister agreed with the proposal and it was decided that both federal and provincial governments would provide funds jointly for the development project.

Nawab Zehri also stressed the need for increase of seats in Balochistan assembly in the light of results of recent census. He also termed piping of water from Mirani Dam to Gwadar besides installation of desalination plant for permanent solution of drinking water in the area and said provincial government has earmarked funds for this project but federal government assistance is also needed. He thanked Prime Minister for start of LPG plant at district levels requested him for further expanding it in far flung areas of the province. Provincial government he added would provide land for the project. He said all the areas of the province are very suitable for LPG plant.

Welcoming Prime Minister’s third visit to Quetta in short span said that he and members of his cabinet thank him for paying special attention to Balochistan and providing special assistance for this development.

Prime Minister assured that federal government would continue its cooperation to bring Balochistan t par with other province by developing it.

Prime Minister listened to members of cabinet and their proposals and assured that projects indicated by them would be implemented. He said Balochistan is backward province than other provinces and 10 year development project would create balance of development between provinces leading to end of backwardness from t his province.

Prime Minister later returned to federal capital in the afternoon.
