KARACHI: The Police submitted on Thursday a charge sheet (challan) with the Administrative Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) against alleged Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s suspect Ishaq alias Bobby in murder case of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s lawyer wing vice president.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested Ishaq alias Bobby and Mohammad Asim alias Capri, belonging to the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (Naeem Bukhari Group), on November 7, 2016 for their alleged involvement in around 25 cases of targeted killing including the murder of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri, personnel of Army, Rangers, police and sectarian killing cases.
The police had earlier submitted charge sheets in around two dozen murder cases and informed him that the suspects were also involved in killings of doctors and lawyers on sectarian basis.
According to fresh charge sheet, Bobby with his accomplices had killed PML-N’s vice president Sindh chapter Waqar Shah on April 10, 2014. The investigators added that the suspect has been identified by the eye witnesses as well as per ballistic report the weapon recovered from the possession of Ishaq was used in the murder.
While accepting the charge sheet, the ATC’s administrative judge transferred the case to concerned ATC for further trial.
