Polling for first phase of KP LG polls to be held on Dec 19

PESHAWAR: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, polling for the first phase of local government elections will be held on 19th of next month.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), today is last day for withdrawal of nomination papers for elections in seventeen districts of the province. The revised list of candidates will also be issued today. The ECP will allot election symbols to contesting candidates and issue final list tomorrow. The polling in the rest of the districts under the second phase will be held on 16th of January next year.

The ECP has constituted 64 appellate tribunals in 18 districts ahead of the first phase of local government (LG) polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, ARY News reported on Friday. The election commission made progress on the organization of LG polls in KP province by forming 64 appellate tribunals in 18 districts. The ECP announced that local government elections in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held as per schedule.
