Karachi: Municipal Commissioner DMC Central Waseem Soomro has ordered the sanitation department to shift the garbage excavated from drains to dumping point, immediately.
He instructed the municipal officers to provide facilities in areas surrounding the polling stations within the jurisdiction of DMC Central. For this purpose, sanitation staff would be posted at polling stations.
He said as the Met Office has predicted rains within a few days, possibly on the Election Day, efforts should be taken for drain out rainwater from the polling stations, if it rains very heavily.
To meet this challenge Waseem Soomro s instructed to arrange for dewatering pumps at every polling station.
