Powerful personalities being brought to trial for first time: Punjab CM

LAHORE:Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the rich and the powerful personalities are being brought to trial for the first time in Pakistan.

The culture of loot and plunder can no more work in the new Pakistan. In a statement issued here today, he said that massive corruption was made in the previous tenures and the corrupt cabal mercilessly looted the national resources which were meant for the welfare of the people.

The bank balances of the former rulers continued to be doubled day and night but the people suffered due to the quagmire of problems. Pakistan was entangled in the quagmire of corruption in the past while the new Pakistan is achieving the goal of transparency and it’s being transformed under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. In fact, the foundation of a transparent Pakistan has been laid by the PTI.

The Chief Minister said that the whole nation earnestly desires the accountability of those who crossed every limit of corruption during their tenures. No one should remain in any misunderstanding because it is the new Pakistan where all are equal before the law and it is the clear and manifest sign of change that the past rulers are brought under the net of law for their corruption. Whosoever has done anything wrong or committed corruption will have to face the consequences, he added. Those who have had looted the national resources mercilessly are the criminals of the nation and their faces have been fully exposed before the people. He said that loot and plunder reigned in the name of mega-development projects during the last ten years.

The national resources were looted in the tenure of past rulers and corruption was made in every institution. He said that corruption and loans have devastated the economy and as a result, Pakistan reached to the brink of devastation. He said that the former rulers committed cruelty with the country. Basic necessities of people were ignored and exhibitory projects were started which compounded public problems. The PTI government has waged a crusade against the corruption because the government is the custodian of the national exchequer and no one will be allowed to do any embezzlement, the Chief Minister concluded.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of renowned religious scholar Allama Munir Ahmed Yousafi and extended sympathies to the bereaved family. He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of Muhammad Shabbir Chaudhry, senior journalist and former managing editor daily Jehan-e-Pakistan. He extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.

CABINET MEETING

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will preside over the Punjab cabinet meeting on Saturday at the committee room of his office in which 19 points agenda will be reviewed and the meeting will be attended by ministers, advisors, special assistance, Chief Secretary and high officials.
