KARACHI: The Pakistan People’s Party has announced to hold a big public rally in Karachi on February 25 in the run-up to the PPP’ upcoming long march to Islamabad.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the PPP held on Monday to review preparations for the long march of the party commencing from Karachi on February 27. Sindh Information and Labour Minister, Saeed Ghani, who is also party’s Karachi chapter President and PPP Sindh General-Secretary jointly chaired the meeting.
The People’s Party will take out the rally on February 25 from Bilawal House at 3 pm that will culminate at Mazar-e-Quaid via Mai Kolachi Road and Merewether Tower. The meeting was informed that the upcoming long march of the PPP would commence on February 27 at 10 am from Mazar-e-Quaid and would reach Islamabad after moving across several cities and travelling a distance of around 1600 kilometers.
Saeed Ghani reiterated the resolve of his party that the upcoming long march would become the cause for the eventual downfall of the present rulers who utterly lacked the ability and competence to run the affairs of the country. The lawmakers and office-bearers of the party who attended the meeting gave suggestions to improve the arrangements for the upcoming long march.
Waqar Mehdi said that the moment the long march entered Punjab after crossing Sindh the eventual downfall of the present rulers in Islamabad would begin. He said the activists of the PPP belonging to different districts of Karachi should reach Mazar-e-Quaid on February 27 before 10 pm to make sure that the long march began its journey towards Islamabad on a timely basis.
