ISLAMABAD:President Mamnoon Hussain has said that trained manpower is essential in order to solidify the foundations of national development.
He said this during a meeting with caretaker Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Mohammad Yusuf Sheikh and Chairperson National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) Razina Alam Khan in Islamabad on Friday who presented annual report of the Commission to the President.
The President said National Commission for Human Development is rendering valuable services. He said lack of resources is a big hurdle in the way of achieving the major national goals. However, it is satisfactory that full attention has been paid on various sectors during the last few years, resulting in progress.
The President said presence of ghost schools in the rural areas is a source of concern, and proper strategy is required to overcome this problem.
President Mamnoon Hussain directed the federal education minister to prepare a policy in the light of which the quality of primary education could be improved. The President hailed the Commission for providing effective services to educate poor children.
