PTI blames corruption mafia for secretariat fire

KARACHI: Sensitive record went destroyed due to a mysterious fire in New Sindh Secretariat Building, previous day, which may be a bid to hide huge corruption, mostly in provincial health department.

This was alleged by Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MNA Dr Arif Alvi while addressing a press conference in Karachi Press Club (KPC) along with MPA Khurram Sherzaman here on Friday.

He alleged that this fire was not incidental but a well-planned arson. He added that huge record was destroyed in it. He asked how it was possible that fire affected 6 floors within seconds.

Alvi charged that the ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) was involved in massive corruption in several departments, adding this is why the sensitive record was burnt.

MPA Khurram Sherzaman said as the general election is coming near and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is accelerating operation against corruption mafia, these crooked people are trying to destroy evidences of their huge corruption.

He said that he had already submitted an adjournment motion in Sindh Assembly over the Sindh Secretariat fire but it was opposed by ruling party.

He predicted that the PTI would clean sweep next general election and it form next government. He said if PTI came in power, the corrupt Waderas would be apprehended. He said the money looted by the corruption mafia would be brought back from foreign countries.

The PTI leaders appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of the secretariat fire incident and order forming a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the incident.
