Rallies, demos in Karachi to condemn mayhem in occupied Kashmir

KARACHI: To express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people, a large number of Karachiites took to streets on Friday and condemned mayhem in the held valley by the Indian occupation army.

Besides Karachi, demos and rallies were held in all towns and cities of Pakistan in solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren.

The activists of the Unity & Peace Forum of Pakistan (UPFP) held a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) against the aggression of India on Kashmir people.

UPFP president Zafar Maqsood said that Indian occupation forces are committing war crimes in the held valley, adding the innocent people of Kashmir have been braving these atrocities for a long time but the international community has yet to break it silence. He said that Pakistani nation will always stand with the oppressed Kashmiri people.

On the occasion, the protesters asked the United Nations (UN) to resolve the Kashmir Issue as soon as possible.

Separately, Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK) took out a rally from the Sindh governor house that marched to the KPC in solidarity of Kashmiri people.

Score of the people including civil society members and students participated in the rally.

The rally participants, carrying banners and placards, chanted slogans against the human rights violations by the Indian occupation forces in the held Kashmir.

The participants urged the Pakistani government to call an international conference to resolve the Issue of Kashmir and help the Kashmiris getting rid of the Indian occupation forces.

They also asked the government to mark this day as a ‘black day’.
