Rangers detain alleged target killer for 90 days

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers, Sindh on Saturday detained a suspect, who was allegedly involved in killing dozens of people, after informing Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) about their preventive detention for questioning.

The Rangers along with its counsel produced the suspect Feroz Ali, allegedly belonged to a political party, before the administrative judge of ATC amid tight security.

The paramilitary submitted the papers to the court according to which they have credible information about suspects’ involvement in target killing, extortion and offences that comes within the ambit of Anti-Terrorism Act.

The Rangers informed the judge that the suspect was arrested from Karachi’s Baldia Town area on a tip of.

The law officer of paramilitary force told that the suspect had confessed of killing as many as 25 persons.

The Rangers will keep the suspects for the period of 90 days considering legal provision 11 EEEEE (1) of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. The production of the suspects along with other documents was made in compliance with 11 EEEEE (3) of ATA for the information and record of the court.
