RBTC Jamshoro to be open soon

KARACHI: 2nd Regional Blood Transfusion Center (RBTC), Jamshoro would be made operational under public private partnership soon.

Sources at Sindh Health Department told PPI that hiring of technical and non-technical staff was almost completed to run RBTC Jamshoro under public private partnership. The RBTC Jamshoro has been handed over to Indus Health Network and will be made functional soon.

The RBTC Jamshoro was constructed with financial and technical support of German government. The centre is equipped with blood processing, screening, testing, component preparation and storage facilities. The regional blood transfusion center would be linked with six hospital-based blood banks (HBBBs) and with storage capacity of 50,000 blood bags.

The Regional Blood Transfusion Centre (RBTC) Karachi and Nawabshah would also be made functional soon.

Earlier, Regional Blood Transfusion Center (RBTC), Sukkur had been made operational under public private partnership and Chairman, Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the blood bank.
