KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla, while releasing details of motor vehicle tax and professional tax collection from Sindh Excise and Taxation Department, has said that these details are from July 2021 to January 2022 of the current financial year.
According to a statement on Wednesday he further said that in terms of motor vehicle tax, Rs 6336.949 million was collected from Karachi, Rs 258.550 million from Hyderabad, Rs 116.915 million from Sukkur and Rs 49.907 million from Shaheed Benazirabad.
According to Provincial Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Rs 62.085 million was collected from Larkana and Rs 36.492 million from Mirpurkhas for motor vehicle tax, while Rs 471.248 million was collected from Karachi and Rs 18.502 million from Hyderabad in terms of professional tax. He said that Rs. 12.635 million was collected from Sukkur and Rs. 11.093 million from Shaheed Benazirabad. Rs. 12.596 million was collected from Larkana and Rs. 36.492 million from Mirpurkhas.
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department and Parliamentary Affairs and Food Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that tax defaulters might get the details of their taxes from the website of Sindh Excise Department. He said that business people could register their business on the website through a simple procedure. The Excise Department’s website is www.excise.gos.pk. Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that there is also a facility for tax defaulters to deposit taxes online. Owners of the vehicles should take advantage of the online tax filing facility.
