NAUNDERO: The Shehri Action Committee (SAC), Naundero, has demanded of the provincial government of Sindh to provide all required medical facilities at the 100-bed Government Hospital, Naundero, without further loss of time or be ready to face the wrath of the local people.
In a statement issued here on Friday, the SAC chairman Ghulam Haider Narejo, Jawed Bhutto, Maulvi Abdul Qudoos Panhwar, Saleem Channa and others said that the town of Naundero is known as the hometown of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto, Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto as the town belongs to Khan Bahadur Ahmed Khan Bhutto.
They said that the importance of this town can be judged from the fact that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto always celebrated every Eid here with the citizens of Naundero and during their meetings they also enquired about the problems of the town and issues faced by the residents irrespective of caste or creed.
They said that the present Sindh Government formed in their names has ignored this town for the past 14 years as neither any significant development has been made nor the problems faced by the denizens have been resolved, specifically health related issues, which has resulted in enhancement of sense of deprivation.
They said that a Trauma Center building is available but it is still dysfunctional. The inoperative diagnostic laboratory at the 100-bed Government Hospital has multiplied the problem and unavailability of ultrasound, x-ray, ECG facilities have increased burden on the poor patients. They said that Scissor operation has also been stopped for which pregnant poor women have to travel from far flung remote areas to Larkana to deliver babies where they face agonies and exorbitant charges in this massive price hike era. They said specialist cadre doctors are unavailable despite availability of sanctioned posts which have been vacant since long.
They said there is neither a proper solar system nor fuel for the generator hence all the emergency cases when they arrive suffer the worst due to massive electricity load shedding. They said all emergency cases are referred to Chandka Hospital which must stop and emergency treatment facilities be made available here.
They said the worst of all these things is the acute shortage of medicines which the poverty-stricken patients have to procure from the open market in this hurricane of inflation which is a tragic, barbaric and daring violation of Benazir Bhutto’s vision of giving top priority to health and education sectors. They warned the Sindh Government to fulfill all requirements of the Government Hospital immediately or be ready to face the wrath of the citizens who have lost their patience now due to regular false commitments.
