SHCC launching awareness drive to prevent dengue in Sindh

KARACHI:Team of Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) and Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) in Sindh conducted a meeting for prevention and control of dengue

The SHCC and PCPD Sindh met at SHCC Head Office. CEO SHCC Dr Minhaj Qidwai, Program Manager, PCPD, Dr Mehmood Iqbal Memon, Additional Program Manager PCPD, Dr Abdul Waheed Shaikh and Deputy Medical Superintendent Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Dr Anwar Suhail Qureshi attended the meeting.

In the meeting, a strategy was discussed to control dengue in Karachi and Sindh. In this regard, SHCC will start awareness campaign for prevention of dengue and compliance letter will be issued to the authorities.

The Directorate of Clinical Governance and Training conducted meeting of laboratory standards. In the meeting, document for Provincial Laboratory Policy had been discussed. It was discussed that transparent system of procurement shall be followed taking both quality and price into consideration. Training in supply management shall be promoted at all tiers of laboratory network to ensure steady supplies.

The Directorate of Anti-Quackery has sealed 68 more healthcare establishments (HCEs) in a week and a total of 2653 HCEs were sealed across the province so far. In warnings issued to HCEs’ for non-compliance till date are 711. In this week 37 warnings have been issued.

The Directorate of Complaint SHCC has received 103 complaints out of which 80 were disposed of, 17 were under process while six are sub-judice so far.

The Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation SHCC has received 51 new applications for registration this week and total number of applications for registration has reached 9657.

The certificates were issued to 50 HCEs this week bringing the total number of registration certificates issued to 8642 HCEs.
