KARACHI: A joint meeting was held, under chairmanship of Sindh Food Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla and Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Investment Department and Public Private Partnership Projects (PPPP) Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, to discuss issues related to food security, introduction of modern food warehousing storage in Sindh, engaging international advisory firms to undertake a feasibility study, and to invite private sector participation by launching model of food silos under PPP mode here in finance department on Tuesday.

It was stressed upon that food silos on modern lines were essential for minimizing losses and ensuring proper nutrient levels in grain. DG PPP Asad Zamin, Director PPP Fahad Ansari and Director Finance Yasir Mumtaz Khokhar also attended the meeting.

Addressing the meeting Chawla said that the Sindh Government was committed to provide food security to the people of Sindh and in this regard the role of the private sector was very important. While SACM on Investment Department and PPPP Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar assured his full support in taking measures for food security as the Sindh Government, under Public Private Partnership Projects, had already completed many mega projects and certain projects were also underway.
