CHITRAL: Six people were killed and four others injured when a car plunged into a river on Chitral-Lowari road on late Wednesday night.
According to additional deputy commissioner of Ayun, Minhasuddin, the car was going to Dir from Chitral when it collided with another car coming from the opposite direction due to over-speeding and plunged from a height of more than 1,500 feet into the river. As a result, six people, including four family members, were killed on the spot, while four others injured in the accident.
They were identified as Nizamuddin, his wife, son Faheemuddin and brother-in-law Mufti Mahmood, driver Tanveer Ahmed and Samiur Rahman. The bodies of two persons were still missing. The local people and Rescue 1122 reached the spot and started search for the missing bodies.
