SMIU’s delegation visits Parliament House, NUST

KARACHI: Sindh Madressatul Islam University’s delegation of National Leadership Program (NLP) comprising students and faculty visited Parliament House in Islamabad on Thursday as a part of their leadership training program.

Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi welcomed the delegation in the Visitors Gallery. The assembly members also welcomed them. The students observed proceedings of the ongoing session of the assembly. It was a great experience and an opportunity of learning for the students to closely watch debates of the country’s elected representatives.

Earlier, SMIU delegation was briefed about the history of constitution and political developments of Pakistan through the Constitutional Gallery (Gali-e-Dastoor). The students took keen interest in pictures, documents and brief constitutional history of the country, which was displayed there.

The delegation also visited Senate Secretariat, where they were briefed by Asim Khan Goraya, Senate Secretary, about structure and functions of the Senate through a presentation. A question-answer session was also held.

Later on, students visited National University of Science and Technology (NUST), where they were briefed about various departments.
