QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly Ms Rahila Durrani has said Senate role is of key importance for continuation of democracy and stability. Therefore making process of Senate elections transparent from all aspects is our responsibility. She directed that effective steps should be taken for preparations of Senate polls. She said while chairing a meeting to review security arrangements for Senate polls and other matters here Monday.
Provincial Election Commissioner Naeem Majeed Jaffar, IG Balochistan Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, Secretary Assembly Shamsuddin, DIG Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema and concerned officers were present.
Meeting reviewed matters relating to Security and preparations for Senate elections and took important decisions.
Provincial Election Commissioner briefed on modern means for keeping election process transparent.
IG Police said that best security arrangements were being made for senate elections and implementation of rule and regulations for elections would be ensured.
Matters relating to Media Coverage for senate elections were also discussed.
Earlier DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema briefed on security matters in detail.
Later speaker and Election Commissioner inspected assembly hall.
