Sports: Cricket: Federal Capital overcomes KPK in nail-biting finish

Karachi: Federal Capital overcame KPK U-16 team by a single run in Pepsi-PCB U-16 Pentangular T-20 Tournament 2018 LCCA Ground in Lahore on Monday.

Federal Capital batted first in the match and put on board a paltry total of 86-9 in 20 overs. Rizwan Mahmood top scored for the side with 30 runs. Usama Alam picked three wickets cheaply for five runs.

In its turn, KPK fell short of only two runs from recording victory after it was bundled out in 18.2 overs. Mohammad Ahsan captured a four-wicket haul for 16 runs. Saqlain Gilani, Hasan Abid Kiani and Mohammad Yasir picked two wickets each for the winning team.

In another match of the tournament played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Balochistan U-16 conceded an eight-wicket defeat from Punjab U-16. Umar Eman picked four wickets while Khalil Ur Rehman knocked 54 runs for the winners in the match.
