Karachi: Sherof Football Club qualified for Leisure Leagues National Football Championship after it defeated its dangerous nemesis Super Afghan in Quetta’s Leisure Leagues Intra-City summit clash at Spini Football Ground in Quetta.
The Leisure Leagues National Football Championship will be played tentatively in April 2018 with champions of eight cities – namely Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Mardan and Qila Saifullah vying for top honours.
Eight teams featured in Leisure Leagues Season I in Quetta, playing two matches against each other. Sherof FC previously conceded defeats on both occasions against Super Afghan in league matches.
But in the all-important final match, Sherof FC came with all guns blazing and recorded a convincing 9-4 victory against Super Afghans – thanks to hat-tricks from Kashif Baloch, Shahrukh and Aurangzaib. Sanaullah scored a hat-trick while Amir Khan scored one for the losing side.
During the closing ceremony, Lala Akber Raisani, former captain Pakistan Football Team and Ex-Head Coach National Bank of Pakistan presented winner and runner trophies to the respective teams.
