Karachi: Unseeded Ali Mooraj overpowered favorite Nouman Aftab in straight sets in semifinals of men’s singles event in Grade One Sindh Ranking Tennis Open Championship here at DA Creek Club.
The seedings of the semifinal match between unseeded Ali Mooraj and top seed Nouman Aftab seemed to be upside down as the unseeded player thrashed the favorite player easily by 6-2, 6-1 score.
In girls U-17 semifinal, Versha Das beat Zainab by 6-3, 6-2 score. Versha Das also cruised into the final of ladies singles final. She recovered from a set down in semifinals and defeated Sehar by 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 score after a neck and neck battle.
She will now face Varisha Khan in ladies singles final, who thrashed Aysha Yousuf immaculately by 6-0, 6-0 score.
In U-15 semifinal, Ashar Mir defeated Asim Gul by 6-2, 6-4 score.
