State Bank thrashes HEC in Women’s Cricket

KARACHI: State Bank women cricket team recorded a convincing 96-run triumph against HEC in 5th Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Women’s Cricket Championship 2016 on Sunday at Lahore Country Club in Muridke.

State Bank batted first in the match and put on board a big total of 164-2 in 20 overs. Asmavia Iqbal batted impressively scoring 91 with the help of nine boundaries and four sixes off 59 balls. Iram Khan also batted well scoring unbeaten 66 off 56 balls.

In response HEC scored a paltry total of 68-9 in 20 overs. Sumaiya Siddique, Kainat Imtiaz and Asmavia Iqbal took two wickets each for the winners.

In another match, ZTBL defeated PCB XI in a low scoring match by four wickets. PCB XI batted first in the match and put board a paltry total of 77-7 in 20 overs. Fareeha Mahmood top scored for the side with 40 runs off 51 balls. Sania Khan hauled three wickets.

ZTBL in response reached the target in 15.1 overs with six wickets in hand. Nida Dar batted well scoring 36 runs. Rameem Shamim took two wickets.
