LARKANA:The male and female students of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Government College of Education held a protest demonstration in their college here on Tuesday against charging of extra fee by the college authorities.
The students of B.Ed. (Hon), including Wasim Channa, Younis Soomro, Aftab Abbasi, Saba Abro and Zoya Abbasi complained before journalists that over 300 students were enrolled in the college affiliated with the Shah Abdul Latif University, which had fixed annual examination fee of Rs 2,550, but the college administration was charging them Rs 2200 extra for which no receipt was being given to them.
The affected students said they had made repeated complaints to DEO Akhtar Korejo and Principal Ghazalla Perveen against this highhandedness, but they were constantly avoiding to stop this malpractice. They alleged that principal was issuing threats of lodging terrorism cases against them for raising this issue.
They said recently, water supply had been stopped in the college due to which both male and female students were facing hardships. They urged the Sindh Education Minister and other relevant higher government authorities to take notice of the college issues and provide justice.
