Islamabaad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, more than 3/4th Pakistanis (86%) believe two to four children to be the ideal number for a family. 37% believe four or more to be the optimal number.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “How many children should be there in an ideal household?”

in response to this question, 4% said one, 29% said two, 29% said three, 28% said four, 6% five, 2% said six, 1% said the more the better and 1% did not know or wish to respond.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1673 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, January 28 –February 03, 2018. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
