KARACHI: Tanzeem-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Akif Saeed in a statement on Saturday said that Syria has been witnessing the worst tragedy in human history but our Muslim leaders are silent on this issue.
He said in Eastern Ghouta, a suburb of the Syrian capital Damascus residents are under siege of Bashar-ul-Asad’s regime for four years.
He said Syrian government has also stopped supply of food and medical facilities to the people of Ghouta for four years and children are dying of starvation. After keeping it under siege for years, now Syrian and Russian air force are bombarding Ghouta’s innocent citizens.
He said even western countries are raising voice on this tragedy but over Muslim rulers and public are silent and least concerned.
Hafiz Akif Saeed said, our media gives nonstop coverage to deaths of film actresses, but they have been silent on the Syria issue.
He said it would be a folly of Muslim leaders o thinks that this war would b limited to Syria alone. We should show unity o fight against our enemy, he concluded.
