Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Project best achievement: Governor

QUETTA: Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha, has said that “Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Project” was one of the best achievements of the incumbent government. These views were expressed by him while talking to Dostain Jamaldini, Secretary, Forest and Wildlife Department, Government of Balochistan who called on him at Governor’s House here on Tuesday.

Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Project, climate change, steps taken for preservation of forests and wildlife and other issues of bilateral interest came under discussion during the meeting. Agha said planting new trees under clean and green Pakistan would not only generate revenue but would also leave positive affects on global warming.

He added that besides planting new trees, it was our responsibility to take care of already planted trees. Later on, Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha planted a sapling in the premises of Governor House. Highlighting the importance of trees, he emphasized the need for creating awareness amongst the people regarding importance of trees for climate amelioration.

On the occasion, Secretary, Forest and Wildlife Department, Dostain Jamaldini, Chief Conservator, Forest, Balochistan, Zaigham Ali, Conservator, Forest, Quetta Division, Niaz Kakar, Muhammad Aslam Shahwani, Nasir Shahwani and others were also present.
