Top officials attend funeral prayer of martyred rangers cop

KARACHI: The funeral prayer of a rangers cop, Fawad Khan, who was martyred on Tuesday night in a hand grenade attack in Lyari’s Ali Mohammad Mohalla, was offered at 61 Wing Abdullah Shah Ghazi Rangers.

The funeral prayer was attended by Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal, Home Secretary Qazi Shahid Pervaiz, Corps commander Karachi Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza, DG Rangers Sindh Major General Mohammad Saeed and others police officials. On this occasion, they prayed that May Allah, the Almighty, rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage and fortitude to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss. Later, the body was sent to their native village Lakhi Marwat for burial.

Meanwhile, DG Rangers Sindh, Mohammad Saeed along with Additional IGP Mushtaq Maher visited Lyari’s Ali Mohammad Mohalla, where he was briefed about the operation in which five Lyari gang terrorists were killed during shootout with rangers. DG rangers appreciated rangers’ performance and congratulated them. The DG rangers visited Civil Hospital Karachi and inquired about the health of cops who were injured in Lyari shootout.
