Two bike snatchers sent on judicial remand

KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Saturday sent two bike snatchers to prison on 14-day judicial remand.

Karachi police’s Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) on Friday arrested a gang of motorbike snatchers including a civilian employee of some agencies.

The ACLC said the arrested suspects were identified as Sohail Murtaza, a civilian employee, and Younas Jones. Their accomplice Shahjehan, also a civilian employee, is still at large.

ACLC produced both arrested accused before the court of judicial magistrate (South) and the magistrate sent them to jail on 14-day judicial remand.

The official said 14 motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects. This gang was involved in motorcycle snatching and theft cases in various areas of Karachi, especially Defence, Tipu Sultan and Shahra-e-Faisal.
