KARACHI: A Judicial Magistrate on Thursday remanded two Chinese citizens, who were arrested for skimming Automated Teller Machine ATM, in Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) custody for three days.
The FIA produced suspects Xing Ching and Xong Scheveion, nabbed by the police over their suspicious activities in an ATM at Abdullah Haroon Road previous day, before the Judicial Magistrate South and sought their physical remand for questioning.
The Investigating Officer (IO) told the court that the suspects were handed over to FIA by police that arrested them after and founding them suspicious of stealing ATM data through skimming devices. The devices recovered from their possessions were of the same nature as the devices used in other ATM skimming cases.
The IO requested the court to grant physical remand of the Chinese citizens as they were required for investigation. Accepting the plea, the court allowed the investigators to keep the suspects with them on three-day physical remand.
