Two literature books launched at Arts Council

KARACHI:Artist Zafar Qureshi’s two books, titled “Aalmi Kahaniyan 1” and “Aalmi Kahaniyan 2”, were launched at a ceremony in Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi.

Speaking on the occasion, President of the event, Ghazi Salahuddin, expressed his views as saying that Zafar Qureshi had translated the literary pieces from new international writers. “If translations are not made, there will be no sign of international literature,” he said.

Professor Dr. Anwar Ahmed Zai said, “Zafar is an eminent litterateur and his translated books are the reflection of his interest.”

Several journalists and literary figures attended the event and praised Qureshi for his innovative work.

Journalist Agha Masood Hussain said that the government should bestow an award to Zafar Qureshi for his literary work. While presenting their views, the speakers talked about few of the stories from modern literature which were necessary for the readers. Khawaja Razi Haider, Mehdi Imam, Sultan Ahmed, Khursheed Iqbal, Kamal Asghar and Sattar Javed were the honored guests of this ceremony.

In the end of event, Zafar Qureshi presented his books to Ghazi Salahuddin and thanked the audience for gracing the event.
