Update: IGP urges force to display nationalism to ensure friendly atmosphere

KARACHI: The newly appointed Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Wednesday assumed charge as the Sindh IG.

The newly appointed IGP later addressed senior police officers, including establishment DIG, Karachi administration DIG, finance DIG, AIGs of establishment, welfare, operations and others.

He issued directives that the professional duties be performed in accordance with the rules and regulations.

Dr Imam was of the view that for enhancing the performance of the Police department, it is necessary that a people-friendly atmosphere be fostered at every level.

He said police department is the name of a team work and all problems and issues would be resolve honestly in consultation with the officers”.

IGP Imam said that he would always be available for support and guidance and all officers should deal with citizens and with their staff sympathetically. All arrangements should be made to boost the morale of police force so that it showed efficiency in the field, he added.
