Use of Rs16bn allocated for Chagae uplift questioned

DALBANDIN: Mir Dawood Khan Notezai, former district chairman and leader of Baba-e-Chagae panel, has said that a rally taken out by Al-Fata panel in support of the government of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) showed that Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan and MPA Chagae had formed an alliance for ‘corruption and commission’.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he said though it was claimed in a press conference that 16 billion rupees had been released during the last three years for the development of Chagae, but it was not known as to where the released amount was utilized.

He added that sitting MPA of district Chagae had financially supported his brother and favourite contractors by awarding contracts of development projects to them rather than initiating development projects for the good of the people of district Chagae of Balochistan province.

He said that sitting MPA was taking the credit for the work of others, adding that 150 employees had been appointed in PPHI by the authorities, but MPA of Chagae tried to take credit for the appointment made in PPHI. Notezai highlighted that people of district Chagae were facing multiple problems, including health, education, irrigation, pure drinking water and roads that needed to be addressed on priority basis.
