TAMBOO: Shortage of agri water in Pat Feerder Canal was touching its last limits. Dye to shortfall of water it went down from dead level. Crops cultivated on lakhs of acres of agricultural land were drying up while clean drinking water was also being faced. If immediate supply of water to Pat Feedar canal was not made there can be mass migration of people from the area.
According to details for the last two months Balochistan’s biggest canal system Pat Feedar canal was facing shortage of water which has now dropped to dead level. Crops grown over lakhs of acres of land in Nasirabad district were destroying by drying up. Similarly there is major apprehension of shortage of clean drinking water in Nasirabad, Dera Murad Jamali and adjoining areas. Zamindars, growers and political leaders staged protest demonstrations for shortage of water in pat feeder canal but government badly failed to overcome this shortage. Now situation has become more serious. Irrigation department has announced to close Pat Feedar canal for one month from Aril 1, 2018. It can create to be drought like situation.
People have appealed to Balochistan chief Minister, Chief Secretary and provincial secretary irrigation to immediately remove agri water shortage in Pat Feedar Canal and people should e stopped form migration.
