World Qirat contest in Lahore

LAHORE: Prominent Qaris from Pakistan besides two leading Qaris from Egypt would participate in the world Qirat contest at the Central Colony, tomorrow, March, 29.

This was stated by Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, while talking to the media at his residence. Renowned Egyptian Qaris Rafiet Husain Ali Yousuf and Al-Syed Abdullah Attar, were also present on the occasion.

Liaqat Baloch said that Egypt and Pakistan had close brotherly relations and the Qirat legend Qari Abdul Basit had won the hearts of the Pakistanis through his heart moving Qirat  years ago.

He further said that the visit of the Al-Azhar Chief Grand Mufti of Egypt Sheikh Ahmed  Tyyeb, to this country had also helped create unity among the Ulema against terrorism. He was confident that the visit of the Egyptian Qaris would prove a milestone in the promotion of Islamic values.
