QUETTA: Boycott of young doctors from active services of OPDs, corona vaccination centres and operation theatres of government run healthcare facilities in Balochistan province continued on Tuesday.

According to reports, on the of call Young Doctors Association (YDA), doctors have been boycotting the active services of OPDs, Operation Theatres and Corona Vaccination Centres of government run hospitals for the last 76 days, creating thereby problems for patients.

YDA demands provision of medicines to government run hospitals of the province, increase in the salaries of doctors, make appointments against the vacant slots and operationalization of dysfunctional machineries of hospitals. YDA says that if demands presented by YDA to the authorities were not entertained, a protest sit-in would be staged on February 9, 2022 (today) outside Chief Minister’s secretariat.
