Zardari, Faryal photos removed from CMCH

LARKANA: The photos of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and the party’s Ladies Wing Chief, Faryal Talpur were removed from the office of the Medical Superintendent, Chandka Medical College Hospital, Dr Ali Gohar Dahri, when MMA’s candidate for NA-200 Rashid Mahmood Soomro visited MS office late last night.

Soomro went to MS office in connection with the death of a patient who expired in Casualty and found pictures affixed on the walls in MS Office. He asked MS if it was the government office or office of the peoples party. MS replied that those photos had not been fixed by him but by previous MSes long before his posting.

Soomro was accompanied by PS-11 candidate Moazim Abbasi and their large number of supporters. He asked the MS to remove the photos immediately or fix photos of other political leaders and the same were removed by CMCH staff but the photo of Benazir Bhutto was allowed to remain there as the candidates said they had a lot of respects for her. The residents of Larkana and civil society members demanded that it should be ensured that portrait of Quaid-e-Azam should only be fixed in government offices as per past practice and political persons’ photos should be banned and violators be given exemplary punishments so that nobody should ever dare to politicize the institutions.
