100 units donated at PWA blood camp

KARACHI: Patients’ Welfare Association (PWA) on Wednesday organized a voluntary blood donation camp at DOW Medical College (DMC) where volunteers, students and teachers have donated their blood in blood camp.

Spokesperson PWA, while talking to PPI, said PWA has arranged a one day blood donation camp at DMC which was started from 10:00am and continued till 03:00pm. He said about 100 units of blood were collected in blood donation camp.

He said many people including PWA volunteers, students & teacher of DOW Medical College have donated their blood in blood camp. He said purpose of this camp was to enlighten the spirit of voluntary blood donation amongst people.

The PWA is the largest student run non-government, non-political organization of Pakistan, working within the premises of Civil Hospital, Karachi, run by the students of DMC for the past 39 years.

The services offered include provision of blood screened on WHO parameters on exchange basis and free of cost medicines to admitted patients of Civil Hospital, Karachi. The organization also caters to transfusion and Iron Chelation needs of registered Thalassemia patients.
