12,000 acres of forest land in Larkana occupied

LARKANA:Out of total 52,000 acres of Forest Department land in Larkana Division as many as 12,000 acres have been encroached upon by people of various communities for which operation has been launched to get it vacated.

This was disclosed by Muhammad Ali Unar, Divisional Forest Officer, Larkana, while talking to this Scribe on Sunday. He disclosed that total land of Forest Department in Bahman Plot is 700 acres out of which 350 acres have been occupied by people of various communities including Brohi, Detha, Kamaria, Kori, Jeha, Dahani and others and during last two days 200 acres have been retrieved on the orders of the apex court for which police is also helping.

He said after getting possession of entire land, a boundary wall will be constructed around the total land so that no such incident take place in future. Unar said after getting possession of the land, forest will be established and plants will be planted on the entire government land which will help in improving environment. He said land occupied by Lashkar Khan Brohi, Ali Khan Detho, Ihsan Kori, Abdul Hakim Brohi, Akmal Kamario, Ajmal Kamario and others has been retrieved adding the list is very long.

He said a report will be submitted in the apex court after forest land is evacuated and those who resisted will face the iron hand of law and FIRs will be registered against them.
